CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEMIFINAL: MAN UTD-ARSENAL

28 - 29 April 2009 : MANCHESTER UNITED - ARSENAL

Ashley Cole on "Pizzagate" - October 2004 - Manchester UTD 2 - Arsenal 0
He confirms the pizza was not thrown by an English or French player and writes: 'This slice of pizza came flying over my head and hit Fergie straight in the mush. 'The slap echoed down the tunnel and everything stopped - the fighting, the yelling, everything. All eyes turned and all mouths gawped to see this pizza slip off that famous puce face and roll down his nice black suit. 'I thought Ferguson was going to explode but then he stormed off into the dressing room cursing and grunting, brushing the crumbs and stains off his collar. 'We all went back into the dressing room and fell about laughing.' He went on: 'All I can say is that the culprit wasn't English or French, so that should narrow it down.' Cole added of the furore around the match: 'By the time we were walking down that extendable plastic tunnel everyone was having a go at each other. 'There were shouts of 'you f****** cheats' and players were running into a jostling huddle where the narrow tunnel opens into a wider mouth. 'I was jammed in the middle. I heard the boss [Arsene Wenger] hammering Ferguson; incandescent French, verbally sparring with the bullish Scotsman.'

HAPPY ST TOTTERINGHAM'S DAY EVERYONE!

St. Totteringham's Day is the day celebrated by Arsenal F.C. fans when Tottenham Hotspur can no longer finish above Arsenal F.C. in the English Football League by virtue of not being able to catch their rivals, even if they win every remaining game.

Due to its very nature, St Totteringham's Day is moveable and can occur at varying times during the season based on the respective fortunes of Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal F.C..

Arsenal are currently 4th with 61 points and Spurs are 9th with 41 with 6 games remaining.

So I would like to wish every Tottenham fan out there a happy summer.

TEAM NEWS

Barcelona

Toure Yaya and Aliaksandr Hleb were given the green light to play in the game and have been included in the squad. Guardiola is reported to be set to name what he considers to be his strongest team available rather than consider the carefully planned rotations that he has implemented for the majority of the campaign so far. Eric Abidal and Gaby Milito are still sidelined, but Andres Iniesta and Carles Puyol have shaken off recent knocks to be ready, both having made their comebacks at the weekend.

Probable Starting XI: Valdes, Alves, Pique, Marquez, Puyol, Xavi, Toure, Iniesta, Messi, Eto'o, Henry

Bayern Munich

The visitors are without the duo of Lucio and Daniel van Buyten at the back with the Brazilian being injured and the Dutchman having lost his father recently, but Klinsmann does have Martin Demechelis available to help boost his options. The coach is also not short of choices up front even though Miroslav Klose has been out of action since the middle of last month with an ankle injury. Tim Borowski and Luca Toni were all given the green light last week after recovering from knocks, while Ribery is expected to start having shaken off his three week lay off.

Probable Starting XI: Rensing; Oddo, Demichelis, Breno, Lahm; Schweinsteiger, Van Bommel, Ze Roberto, Ribery; Toni, Podolski
